MEDIA ADVISORY: Albany Mayor, State Agencies, IRS, Non-Profits Promote Earned Income Tax Credit and Free Tax Preparation Assistance

 

When: Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10:00 am

Where: Free E-file Kiosk at the Empire State Plaza – North Concourse (near Key Bank)

What: To kick off income tax filing season, representatives will provide details of an important tax credit available to millions of New Yorkers – the Earned Income Tax Credit.  They also will outline eligibility requirements for free tax preparation assistance available at more than 400 VITA sites across the state.

Speakers: The Honorable Kathy M. Sheehan, Mayor of the City of Albany, will be joined by Kristin M. Proud, Commissioner of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, along with representatives of the New York State Tax Department, IRS, and Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CA$H) Coalition.
