OGS SEEKING NYS ARTIST TO CREATE MURALS AT THE EMPIRE STATE PLAZA’S FOOD COURTMandatory Site Visit on April 4 For Interested Muralists |

New York State Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn M. Destito today announced the search is on for a New York State artist to paint murals on several walls in the newly renovated food court located on the concourse level of the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
OGS is looking for proposals for murals that will reflect the character of the State of New York and that will be made distinctive through the choice of design, color, and subject matter. The design should be suitable and acceptable for public viewing by people of all ages. The content of the murals should not serve as any sort of promotion or branding for any business or organization, or be overtly political in nature.

Artists are required to submit original designs that cover all four available walls in the food court. The dimensions of the available walls are:
Artists intending to submit a bid must attend a mandatory site visit at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, which will include a tour of the food court to see the mural locations. Pre-registration for the tour is suggested and can be accomplished by contacting Sonya Stack at sonya.stack@ogs.ny.gov or (518) 474-5981 within 48 hours of the start of the site visit. Attendees should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time and have photo identification.
Proposals for RFQ number 2136 must be submitted to OGS before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25. Submissions must include a cover letter, qualifications, a bio or resume, a project plan, and a quoted price not to exceed $21,000 on a quote proposal form.
