DEC To Honor Communities Achieving Climate Smart Community Certification Through Efforts To Combat Climate Change

As part of a week-long celebration of Earth Day, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Joe Martens will be joined by state and local officials to highlight efforts of local municipalities to combat climate change.

Six municipalities will be honored for achieving Climate Smart Communities Certification in recognition of projects they have undertaken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy-efficiency and enhance resiliency to mitigate potential climate impacts.

Directions: From I-787 North, take exit 8 (23rd St./Watervliet/Green Island). 


Turn right at end of ramp and proceed approximately ¼ mile to the park entrance on right.
